Garage Entertainment
ken555 - 30/7/12 at 05:20 PM

Had someone in the garage today looking at the Coupe.

When they remarked on my rather dated entertainment system.

Radio
Radio

Good thing is it also keeps the garage warm once the valves warm up.
What does everyone else have ?

The complete opposite... A little Pure DAB radio,

Kerrang/ Planet rock keeps me entertained!

I keep a Midget in mine, provides hours of entertainment.

PC with wifi (thats tempremental so im going to hardwire)
TV with freeview (aerial in garage roof, also to be rewired to feed from main house aerial)
DVD and radio out of shot.

Freeview automatically starts on Dave ready for Topgear viewing!! lol

When I rewired the workshop I put in 4 new speakers and connected them to an old car radio/cd player I had lying about. The radio is powered by a small 12v power supply. It gives out a reasonable volume and is easily heard over any noise I make. I have a PC in the part of the workshop I term as the office which give me access to the Internet when I need to look up things or see whats happening on Locostbuilders.

£20 knackered Tesco CD player that you have to bash to get it to play a CD and auto tunes itself to radio 2!

And an old steam powered Toshiba laptop that has no battery, no USB ports left working and the Wifi doesn't work.

I'm not tight I just have the Beach Boys on repeat and spend all my money on the car.

Thought the title was 'garage entertainment'? Thats obviously your living room

tegwin - 30/7/12 at 09:58 PM

How do you guys find time to play with Tvs etc!?? When I am in the workshop I am usually so covered in oil and making so much noise bashing bits of metal that the only entertainment I have is to sing to myself in my head...

morcus - 31/7/12 at 02:08 AM

I got lawn mower, some cardboard, and a matress that lets me know when the car is propperly in the garage. For entertainment though, lots of spiders....

Westy1994 - 31/7/12 at 02:42 AM

Just an old laptop via wifi, plays mostly padcasts from Radio Le Mans etc.. Nice to have some car sounds whilst I am messing about under the car. Also handy for that odd bit of googling you need to find out what goes where and how - saves getting the house PC keyboard covered in oily hands.....

T66 - 31/7/12 at 04:56 AM

DAB radio on the back wall, no signal for it as we live on the tundra where it seems all tv/radio signal is crap. Laptop on wifi (also crap service)
