Miracle Cure

Thought I would pass this on as it helped me.

During my bone marrow transplant I had terrific acid reflux. So bad that we had to go to the hospital in the middle of the night one time. All the stuff they said to take didn't work.

In desperation I decided to look on the web for remedies. I tried all sorts of things like chewing gum and drinking lemon tea and the one thing I thought wouldn't work dissolved the pain away almost instantly.

Eat an apple!!! Its a miracle. I started carrying an apple around and at the first sign just start munching.

I know it might not work for everyone but its cheap and better for you than chugging pepto bismol constantly, so worth a try

Amazing!

I have suffered with reflux for years now - due to a small hiatus hernia which is not serious enough for surgery but gives me a lot of problems at night. Like you, I have had a couple of visits to the hospital with suspected ticker problems - thats when they discovered the hernia.

I'll certainly give it a try

Cheers,
Raz

I'll give it a go. A glass of milk helps me however if I drink water it aggrevates it.

milk helped sometimes but not always

apparently different types of apple work better than other so it might be worth trying a few before discounting it

When I was on a certain medication I got chronic heartburn, I can think of few things worse. Heartburn is bad but the degree to which I got it was... there isn't a word to describe it. Not on those meds anymore, just posting to say heartburn totally sucks.

Interesting!! You'ld probably need to choose your variety carefully, some are very acidic and would probably aggravate acidity problems.

Meanwhile, I know what I'm going to take next time I get rampaging acid reflux!!!

Just one thing though- LEMON TEA?!?! Yowzers! Have you been readings Superjuices or something? That quack recommends Peppermint (known oesophageal irritant) and Lemon (highly acidic fruit) for heartburn. Perhaps he means to cause it!!!!
