Having a day off!!! Can't work on the car or go for a drive because it's stuck under my mates Porsche hard-top, can't work on my allotment because I need to use the rotavator and it's a bit hot and sunny so the neighbours have their windows open (so a poorly silenced 2 stroke isn't very friendly), my laptop memory finally arrived but its DDR2 and I need DDR1.... So basically so far I've got diddly squat done. Just planning on what not to do this afternoon

Can't even watch the weekends BTCC racing because ITV haven't put it on their website yet!!

I don't
When I was renovating my diff one of the patients complained by saying

"eeerh, what a load of oil under your nails"

to which i replied

"actually, I think you'll find it's black hammerite"

Told them

More recently I just cut them really short and used shed loads of swarfega. The only recent issue I had was when I did loads of angle grinding and went into work with red pock marks up both arms. I knew what it was but I think quite a few patients though it was the lurgy!!
It was also quite amusing last winter when I bumped into one of my patients (my garage is right next to my surgery). I was walking down the road in my bright blue padded worksuit which was covered in crud, had three days stubble, smelt to high heaven, had mad bobble hat hair, my face was smeared with moly grease from a CVJ and a grinding disc had exploded (heavy handed moi?) and taken a chunk out of chin. Excellent double take

I'm sure all the people who have worked in the public sector are nodding their heads in agreement!

I know EXACTLY what you mean - my sister-in-law used to be the top consultant anaesthetist in a major NHS hospital. A while back, if you dared to criticise the NHS she'd give you the full 30-minute lecture about how wonderful it all was...

...until a few years ago.

Before she retired a couple of years back, she was constantly grumbling about the bureaucracy, money wastage and stupid rules. She was very glad to get out (apart from the fact that it was on health grounds, which wasn't at all good).

Come on over, there's even a good mix of PPC, car mechanics, practical classics etc in the waiting room now as well

Ben is a good doc.

I was fortunate to see him after I broke my leg in two places. He examined me and told me not to go to those places.

Another time it hurt when I raised my arm, his advice was spot on, not to raise my arm.
