eBay Praise!

Well you don't here that often so I thought I'd post it on here.

I bought a 16 valve Saxo engine a while ago link and you'll note my question at the bottom where the seller replies stating it came with the ECU and the 3 pin loom (essential for a straight swap into my 8 valve Saxo)

You can imagine my surprise when it arrived with no ECU and the wrong loom. Despite my repeated attempts to contact the seller (thieving rat bag) I heard nothing. As I'd been away on hols and tried for ages to contact him I was too late to pursue this with Paypal! So I contacted ebay. After a fortnight of not being able to contact the seller , they refunded me the money direct to my Paypal account :-)

I'm still stuck with an engine that I can't use without finding an ECU (or using the Emerald I have) and it did cost me £70 for a courier but I'm not complaining!

Well done eBay!

Wyn

Result!

I've actually had this twice - it seems that if you are a buyer with a decent feedback rating then they tend to not want to lose you as a customer and take the hit themselves.

I refused to return a faulty printer cartridge for a refund becuse it wasn't as described and the seller wouldn't pay for return postage as well as giving me the refund. Ebay just sent the full refund to my paypal account without me having to return anything.

I also got to leave some bad feedback with out fear of reprisal.

"That thing you're thinking - it wont be that."

I've got some bike throttle bodies and an Emerald sitting around.........

That might put me ot of the standard production car class though!

The car might be up for sale at the end of the season (next week) anyway, so the engine may be back on eBay! I'll do the cambelt and stuff first though.
