OT ebay weirdness rant
How the heck does ebay searches/listings work I blowed if I can understand it
I have a little side line repairing GHD hair straighteners and I currently have 2 identical listings on ebay at the moment, one ends in 1 day's
time and the other 6 days
Search for "GHD repair",
My search defaults to best match so assume most other people's does as well
Only one of mine is shown and is on page 2, it's the one that says "GHD's repaired Here" with a yellow background and it is
the one with 6 days left.
If I change it to list list by ending soonest, the one with one day is shown and the one with 6 days isn't
What the F**k is going one as this p*sses me off as I have paid for 2 listings I want to see two listings
Also, appear from paying ebay more money, is there any way I can get my listing nearer the top
Rant over
John.

I don't see either! There are 94 results and quite a few with yellow backgrounds, but none saying "GHD's repaired Here"

Mein Gott! GHD repair is a whole industry.
Try GHD repair without the 's in the title when you put it on. That might be the problem.

Found the 6 day listing.

I have another pair of straighteners that work except the bit where the mains cable enteres the unit is loose and crackles / smokes occaisonally so
weve stopped using them. Its a rotary connection to prevent the cord getting tangled. Probs needs a new one or a fixed connection. Could you repair
these as well?
Even though my GHD's have failed, when they were working they are way better than any others weve tried. Just a shame they are a bit
temperamental seeing as they are so expensive.

agreed. I have straight hair so no use for me but folks with curly hair want it straight and those with straight buy hair curlers, no pleasing some
folk.

Agreed, blokes using hair straighteners, you'll be going to the pub in shoes that'll hurt after an hour soon!

I'm guessing your titles are word for word the same ?
If so the search will only show one of the two listings, its ebays way of stopping multiple listings, doesn't catch them all but looks like its
caught yours.
Change / move one word.

It's a particular brand that makes hair straighteners which cost the bloody earth but apparently according to "our lass" get hair
straighter than others?? Sound slike bullshit to me, but when I want to by Snap-on instead of poundshop it's something I can draw on as an
anology to explain my needs to her!

But at least you can be pretty sure Snap On stuff will do the job and last well. Seems that GHD is expensive and unreliable from the number of people
repairing them.

Yep right little cottage industry. Just try searching for GHD faulty, you will be amazed at the price faulty ones sell for and how many of them there
are. Got into it when wifes went faulty and mr low cost decide to have a go at fiixing them
GHD's are very expensive, over £100 to buy but I have heard just a few quid to make in china. They real easy to fix as they only have a couple
of problems apart from people standing on them and breaking the cases lol

For something that gets to about 220 degrees you'd better only stand on it once!
