phone advice
not for me but for my Mum
She has a nokia N73 which she is very pleased with, and understands. It is on an O2 contract she pays just over £20 per month and as far as I can tell
she never get to her allocated minutes (200 per month). The bills don't tell us how many minutes she uses
However she wants to be able to get internet on a phone, which the N73 isn't great at.
I have looked at the O2 web site and deals on phone upgrades seem to want 98p per DAY!! for internet access unless she gets an iphone for £35 per
month which has unlimited internet.
O2 is the only network which works in her house so we have to stick with that.
Is there any one out there who understands the O2 deals and can recommend a suitable phone and cheap contract including internet for my Mum?
Cheers
Mark

got no advice on phones (although i love my sony c905, wi-fi, gps, internet etc)
to find out how many minutes she uses, reset the counters and check after a week or 2, then work out what it would be for a month?

don't write OT on a new thread title, you're creating the topic, everything you write is very much ON topic!

nokia N95 (not the black one)
O2 simplicity - £15 / month
bolt on a internet / data package = £20 / month
you dont get a fone but you do get a great deal - you can leave after one months notice if you like
the fone i have you can download free sat nav (which is fine) voice guidance is extra - 53 / year if you want it - or can buy it for shorter
periods
the net is good - can use wifi thro it for free if you find somewhere
good camera
i have traffic info software for free too
is compatible to syncronise with office outlook, has full back up capabilties - can download european maps for free, can play games, is a good all
round fone
the N73 is a bit fragile - i have one before it
they are not the newest of fone but you may get one cheap if you shop about

I'm not going to offer advice on the what phone but as far as O2 goes I'm on the cheapest Simplicity tariff with the unlimited web bolt
on. Comes to aprox £17 a month - you don't get a huge amount of free minutes or texts but I never seem to use them all anyway - I do use the
internet a lot though and it does seem to be pretty much unlimited (apart from streaming.... which I don't)

I seem to remember to O2 do an internet bolt on, which gives you free unlimited internet for £5 a month.
Obviously you don't pay the extra, just argue like crazy and tell them you been offered a better deal with vodaphone!
I wouldn't personally bother with an iphone thou, they're like a4seholes, every bodies got one

With o2 Payg you can get a web bolton for £7.50/ month so you could put £10 credit on your phone £7.50 would be taken for the bolton leaving you £2.50
worth of credit which you can topup if you need to. They are also doing a Payg plan at the moment thats being advertised on tv - topup £15 a month and
get unlimited internet and texts. That offer only lasts till 31st Oct though. Ive got an iphone on payg. I get an unlimited internet and Public wifi
access (openzone / cloud) free for a year then the chance to keep it on for £10/ month which i probably wont take as ive never neede to use one of the
access points yet, so may as well go for the £7.50 web access
