AC compressor clutch issues

The clutch on my Tin top AC compressor is rattling at certain rpm's and its a really annoying noise and makes the car sound really poorly although its not!

When the AC is on the clutch seems to engage and then drop out a bit and then engage again.

Well i dont think its actually disengaging as it would with a loss of power to the magnet its more like its slipping.

The rattle is the back face of the clutch (that you can see when looking at the compressor) knocking against the face of the pully that the belt runs on.

It appears to me that the springs that hold the clutch in the disengaged position are weak.

Can these things be rebuilt or not?

Cheers

Check the air gap between the clutch plates. There should be shims behind the nut in the middle.
