Definite no ---- apart from the high probability of getting stopped number plates are now part of the MOT.

But the MOT doesn't check for the BS number or other such technicalities. See here....
http://www.ukmot.com/6-8.asp#Text_top
Unless the MOT regs have changed.....which they may have...
There are lots of Se7ens with stick-on plates and I know of several that just have the numbers stuck on the nosecone and they pass MOTs and have no
bother from the BiB. What usually happens if caught by the BiB is that they give you a 14day wonder (HORT??) to get the vehicle rectified. Unless they
deem that you're using the plate to evade arrest, pervert the course of justice etc, etc, in which case they'll have your hoop in a bread
bin for it.....
As long as the numbers and letters are correctly fonted, easily readable and look OK. You'll probably be OK. Or not...

MOT number plate test requirements changed now.
For cars registered after Sept 1st 2001 Your plate must have
* The new font (79mm high) there are a few excepions motorbikes and some imported cars.
* The name and postcode of the plate supplier
* It must say "BS AU 145d" on it bottom right corner (not neccessarily bottom right but that's where it usually is) - It must also
have next to this a small company name or logo (it is the name of the manufacturer of the plate) There are many different types,
mine say HHSP BS AU 145d. The HHSP bit is the manufacturer.
Other examples
"Gould BS AU 145d"
"UP BS AU 145d" etc etc etc
Car registered and used before 2001 have more leeway .
