Scam going round company’s now
Below is an e-mail being sent to staff here, thought I’d post is as I’m sure it does not only effect us. Obviously I have removed the company’s name –
All,
Please be aware there is marketing companies down south contacting Oil & Gas companies in the area using a sales technique that can only
be described as a 'Scam'
I took a call this morning from DK Marketing advising that ********* has recently completed a survey and as a way of thanks, they offered to send
Mobile Top-up Vouchers, John Lewis, Marks & Spencers and Threshers Vouchers.
Remarkably, they asked for a Purchase Order to cover the postage costs....
When you ask the caller who at ******** completed the survey and request further info, they slam the phone down.
We as a company must adhere to the highest standards of ethical behaviour and ensure we show no favouritism to any supplier(s) who offer incentives
with 'Business Gifts'
If you receive a call of this nature, simply emphasis that it's company policy not to accept business gifts of any kind or alternatively pass
them through to me.
