Scum-Just phoned the police
Two youths in balaclavas just tried the front door while I was upstairs putting my little girl to bed. Obviously looking to pop in and get car
keys.
luckily the door was locked and the neighbour opposite spotted them and came out. They quickly left in a golf.
police said they may send some one round BUT did take note of the car and said they will be looking out for it locally.

charge a capacitor and connect it to the door handle. That'll give them a surprise if they try it again.

Quite like them to come round to mine - i've got a dog barking at fireworks with me. He's as soft as they come but i reckon a big black
lab barking at fireworks and running over to give you a big lick would scare the pants off you!
(suppose the issue is on a night like tonight, people aren't going to hear a broken window / door frame as much as a normal night).
be careful later on tonight - its unlikely but they may pop back

If you can't shut him up, join him????
(plus the look on his face is quite comical - i know dogs don't have human emotions but it sooo looks like "what the heck are you doing
you idiot!"

A few houses around us have these exterior lights, like an old style carriage lamp. They have a detector built in so as someone approaches up the
drive the light comes on. I often think about fitting one for these dark months perhaps that will be a worth while task over the weekend.
It saddens me how one has to lock the door when in the house because of opportunist low life.

Why do I have to make the tools to finish the job? More time then money.

Local police have been in touch and said they have a car in the village and as I was able to give them a make and model it would remain in the village
throughout the night as there has been a recent spate of cars stolen via key thefts.
Not a bad responce.

When we lived in Jo burg this was the solution Miles of wire This then made you ask who was in jail
You can avoid this by having lighting and no hidden areas.
The high gates/walls people stick up only serve to give scum cover.

Or do what they do in downtown Los Angeles: build a high fence with barbed wire on it, and get the biggest gun you can find. What a life. Must be seen
in person to be believed. All right near the Hollywood Bowl and Dodger Stadium too.
