don't write OT on a new thread title, you're creating the topic, everything you write is very much ON topic!

Its pretty good much more varied than the topgear channel........daves programmers are very lazy as they just show continuing TG day and night ....with an odd VBH prog in the middle.....

Quest is part of Discovery, IIRC.

It's just a channel for recycling all of the old programs that they have been recycling on their Sky channels for the past 5 years...

Has there been more than one 'A Car is Born' programme? I thought I remembered one where he built a car and painted it in that odd directional purple/blue paint effect. This one seems newer - the car is dark red and he takes it for SVA.

These channels are mostly garbage but when there's some garbage that interests me I do find them useful. The programme content on the guide never seems to match the actual broadcast though.

There are numerous "is born" series with the same guy (Mark Evans) building stuff:

An MG Is Born (MGB roadster restoration)
A 4x4 Is Born (off-roader based on range rover)
A Bike Is Born - Harley (Classic Harely resto)
A Bike Is Born - Bonneville (Classic brit bike resto)
A Bike Is Born - Custom Trike (yuck)
A Racing Car Is Born (Westfield build and race)
A Chopper Is Born (helicopter building and flying)
A Car Is Reborn (E type Jag resto)
A Plane Is Born (experimental plane build and flying)
A Car Is Born (Pilgrim Sumo Cobra replica)

Sorry, yes I realise there are other topics but what about Sumos? If not him, did someone do something about one which ended up in that strange paint that looks different from different angles?

He also fronted a programme called 'Dream Machines' where they built/restored a different car every week and which viewers could then enter a competition to win it!
One of the builds was indeed a Pilgrim Sumo finished in the 'flip' paint you describe.
I remember them also building a GT40, restoring a Beetle convertable and three 'Italian Job' Mini Coopers.
