Any hydrovane experts in the house

I am after a bit of advice on my hydrovane air compressor. The control panel had been buggered about with when I bought it, and it had been done by a very conciencious but inept electrician, in as much as he'd changed the wiring diagram on the inside of the panel door very neatly, but the changes he had made stopped the compressor from running in auto mode!!

I have altered it back so as far as I can see it is right, and in auto mode its fine now, but now I have an issue in continuous mode!!
The machine is a series 3 hydrovane 43 mounted on a 250 ltr receiver.

The compressor runs until the pressure switch comes on at the high presure limit, then it keeps running as it should, but it opens the dump solenoid, so rather than running at no load, it dumps some air to atmosphere, while the tank drains back to the low press. limit, then the solonoid closes again and the compressor comes under load to fill it................I'm gussing that's not how its supposed to be!!!

The wiring is not at all clear, but I was of the impression that the pressure switch/solonoid/timer side of the controls was not relevant when running in cont. mode??

Anybody any ideas!??

Thanks very much go to T16TurboTone, he's identified the fault through my vague jibberings, and one replaced switch later its all working just as it should!

Will treat it to a seperator kit for christmas now!
