Holy mother of all things shiny

http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerothread?id=4515333&page=1

That is a tidy build!!

Would you need to IVA something like that do we think?

Given that all parts bar the shell is brand new... could you register it as a new car?

Anyone got any other build threads like that to keep me amused at work?

don't write OT on a new thread title, you're creating the topic, everything you write is very much ON topic!

modified body shell so would need an IVA

Yes, but who cares... the cheesy grin across your face every time you got in the thing would be enough for most people

I really like the way they laid out the subframes on that jig.... deffinately a neater way of doing it than just throwing everything into the car..

I bet that engine wont come out through the bonnet though!

Loving that M3.
Only thing I like better is one of the quotes.....

I'm thinking that's the point... seems like someone has just updated THEIR dream car! I've often wanted to do something similar with an Audi 80 Coupe...

suppose so but you see my dream car was one of these rather than a ordinary car made fast

nothing against that build as its very well done but just think personally I'd have started with a more exciting base

Ah the Lambo... yep, looked great on the posters in the teenage Scootz's bedroom and yep, I would still want one, just BECAUSE!

But (and it's a big but) they were apparently a complete pig to drive.

In fact, did James May not have his heart broken by one in a 'best not to meet your heroes' kind of way?

PS - I know that's not the point you're making Whippy... just an evolution of the conversation!

I could maybe do a mid-mounted V8!

I once had a white mirage countach replica with a 3ltr Renault engine, not a good car to live with at all and very difficult and nerve racking to manoeuvre, did enjoy it for a while but was glad to see it go in the end.

Thats a nice build. Looks like the owner has a few quid to splash out on it.

Simply flippin'

Love the old M3 shape more than any they've produced since and the quality of that build is just stunning.

Oh to have the cash, tools, skills, patience...etc!!!
