Ebay... is this unreasonable... ???
Bought some components from a vendor on the 6th... asked him to let me know when they were ready to be uplifted, got no reply, so went back a few days
later and asked again... turns out the parts are still on his car and the car is at a prep-shop - he'll get in touch once the parts have been
removed (no mention of this in the listing).
Here we are 8 days after the date of sale and still not heard anything.
Frankly I'm a bit peeved that someone is selling bits that are not even ready for collection.
Anyhow, I've got an opportunity to buy the same bits and have them here on Wednesday... would it be unreasonable to cancel the transaction based
on the foregoing?

Nope if its not in his listing that youl have to wait then you are quite within your rights to cancel.

On a similiar note I had a guy buy some shocks off me a while back, after no contact for 2-3 days I tried to phone him, he said he'd get back to
me and never did. After a certain period there is actually a function to cancel a transaction, I think it is two weeks though. It's definately
worth looking to see if there is such a function for buying.
If disfunction is a function, then I must be some kind of genius.

I'd email him and get an agreement to cancel the transaction too. If not then you will just have to open a dispute with him via Ebay, but that
means a week to get a refund if he messes about by not responding.

I've emailed politely explaining my situation and asked if the parts are not available for collection in the next day or two, can we then
cancel
I'll see what he says.

Complain to paypal that the item is not as described, which it is not.
In defense of the seller, i dont know if he is a business or not but i run an ebay shop with a turn over of over 80K a year in used car spares and the
number of people that buy stuff and them make you wait until payday before they pay is untrue, i often feel like making the bloody customers wait for
their goods just o even things up but we dont, just put on a smile and carry on.
I would definately go to the resolution centre and start a complaint. What despatch time does he put in his listing?
