any shares experts out there?

I have some Bae systems shares which are in a shareport account. I set them to sell at £3.50 but having watched them every day now for weeks they made 350.00p exactly as the day high on christmas eve and closed at 347.50 but there still showing as being 349.30 on my account and havent sold. Can i just sell them now at 349.30 or will that just mean they sell straight away at what ever price they open at whenever that is? Any advise appreciated, thanks. share link

In my fairly limited experience of shares (i have sold a few work shares through etrade.com and a fairly large number in 2 transactions through a broker) I think you were probably just unlucky, there will generally have to be trader that saw your shares listed at 3.50 and decide that they want them. It may also be that 3,50 was for selling the other way as I beilve you will some times see 2 prices quoted (like the 'we sell'/'we buy' rates that you see in foreign exchange).

You may be able to sell them in out of hours trading, or when the markets open (you might be better off clicking the sell button when the markets are open and you know what price you will get) you may find that they hit 3.50 and sell themselves anyway though when the markets next open.

Cheers,
Dan

Hi,

The london stock exchange opens again on the 28th I beleive, http://www.londonstockexchange.com/about-the-exchange/company-overview/business-days/business-days.htm

I'm not sure how the markets behave around holidays I'm afraid, I would have thought you would be better off looking at historical and current trends on yahoo or google and/or having a look on the website suggested above.

Cheers,
Dan
