ebay frustration
A friend of mine at work has sold some wardrobes on ebay (auction ended on Christmas eve) She specified that the buyer would have to collect and do
any dismantling and although she has recieved payment (£100) the buyer has not been in touch to arrange collection and the wardrobes are in the way
now. The buyer has not responded to emails, text messages or a voicemail so far.
Any suggestions?

Send them & e-bay a message to say if not collected within 7 days the wardrobes will be distmantled and disposed off.

£100 up!
send one of each kind of message giving a deadline to collect. also send it via ebay too (so it can be found by ebay if they do actually ever
investigate anything properly)
if he doesn't come by the deadline (remember to make it realistic, weathers been crap since then) either re-list or bin. don't spend the
£100 so if theres trouble she can give it back
thats what i'd do

I think 28 days is more than adequate. I'd give a deadline, send a few e-mails via Ebay and job's a good'un.

Sounds about right, just state if there not removed in say 5-10 days they will be assumed to be unwanted disposed of elsewhere (ie. binned or
relisted)
Clearly they wanted them enough to pay £100, so you have to wonder whats happened.

Be careful, i have the same problem with a saddle i sold 3 months ago now. Buyer still hasn't collected.
I spoke to ebay who said the item now belongs to the buyer and I cannot resell it or dispose of it. I have also asked a solicitor who came into work
and she said the same thing.

Surely you can now start charging storage for the item?

Yes you can
But you will need to warn the purchaser that storage charges will apply if the goods are not collected after [date] and tell them the rate at which
the charges will be applied
