He was just quicker than button in the first 2 sectors, then pushed it a little to far coming out of a corner and got it a bit sideways. Button was on fire though.

Do they have electric? Can't you watch on a wap phone or summat? Get Chris to send you a tape by pigeon.

yours, Pete

I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.

Usual thing with the cobbler - he is fine within his own limits (and I accept they are very high) but once someone really pushes him he can't handle it very well.

Well done Jenson.

after being an avid F1 watcher since about 1988, I havnt bothered to watch the last 3 races.

I wont do unless something happens thats worth watching. I.e. something other than a german in a red car wins.

I really hope that Schu wins every race this season, so it becomes blatently obvious what a sadly defective product F1 has become...

Earlier that morning I watched the World Superbike race - watching Chili making a bad start in 15th place, and fighting his way through the field to take 1st halfway through the last lap was FAR more entertaining!

I watched the F1 start, saw Micky S. bearing down on Button, and lost interest.

I second that David
PF Chili- 11th place, 11 laps to go and 11 seconds behind, it was incredible.

Mad Max and Rossi had a good scrap in the Moto GP also.

I haven't watched Formula 1 since Mansell and Senna were battling it out.

Even the commentators admit that its all abit the pit stops now, im sure they brought in a new rule a couple of years back that any overtaking is forbidden. And they are still trying to slow them down! They are proposing more grooves in the tyres.
Just give them slicks and let them decide if they want to go fast, if they feel its too dangerous im sure there are drivers out there who would be willing to take their place.

i agree that bike racing is so much more entertaining, it often goes down to the last lap, and not to the start like in F1. Anyone else here that rossi had a test in the ferrari f1 car at their test track and beat their test drivers time and got within 1 sec of shuie.
Im not sure if i want to see him end up in F1 or not, they do need to sort it out though its just so predictable and boring.

I even prefer to watch the USA's CART racing, although mostly on the road circuits rather than the ovals. (is CART still going?)

They're fairly heavily regulated, but they do have 'features' such as the device on the rear wing that gives a tow to the car behind, so they can pass... then they are giving a tow to the car they just passed! Leads to lots of overtaking, anyway.

Whatever they do, they get bunches of cars all the way through the race, and it looks far more exciting.

CART is still going - but only just.

I like the ovals too-- give IRL a try.

BTW - I saw the worst ever racing coverage on Motors TV last week.

It was a cart race, but they friggin kept interrupting the race - not just with ads - but with behind the scenes reports during the action. Bit like 'martin and murray' mixed in with the race and ads.

totally unwatchable

I think that covers most of Motors TV coverage, doesn't it?

It's not the channel, of course (not often, anyway) it's the US producers who insist on shoving in adverts no matter what - often half-way through a spectacular overtake!

One thing i have noticed with coverage of american racing on tv is how the blatenly advertise. Every in car shot has a big advert in it. And all the telemetry that comes up has an advert next to it.

Motors Tv does the Touring car and all the support races live though. Useful to see how my mate James Gornall is getting on. He had a pretty poor day at Brands yesterday, it was a shame because we won the Britsh University Karting Championships with the last 2 rounds at Clay Pigeon on friday and he had to go straight back to kent. It must have been a bit of a downer after the celebrations.

The best thing is watching the winners podium in the indy 500. One year, the guy was given literally over a dozen baseball caps for 10 secs a time, so that each sponsor could get his pikkies on screen and in the media.....
