www.shopperdiscounts.co.uk robbing whatsits

All

Please be aware.

I received my credit card bill the other day and all of the transactions on it bar one were overseas as I had been away for a month over christmas. The one transaction that didn't show exchange rate etc. was entitled Shopperdiscounts .co.uk 08082341539 for £10.00.

I was a little concerned by this as I had been abroad all month so there should have been no uk transactions. I googled them and saw loads of forums with people complaining about this site. What they do is they trail adverts offering discounts following legitimate purchases. Apparantly they do this with Easy Jet, interflora and in my case ticket master. If you sign up for this discount they enroll you to there website which is free for 15 days then they start charging you a fee each month. In my case it was £10 per month however sites on the internet report sums 0f £8 , £10 or £12.

The number that was on my bill is an automated telephone line to cancel the arrangement. I phoned them up and advised them that I considered it to be an unauthorised payment and threatened that I would report them to my credit card and trading standards if they did not refund the two payments they have taken off me, which they agreed to do.

The upshot is if you purchase anything off the net check your statements amd make sure these robbing what nots are not taking payments from you

The trouble is I didn't click on the link They said I had signed up after I had purchased tickets on Ticket master. I had made the purchase but didn't ask for the discount. Not only that but they used my wifes email address not mine. They said I had entered the email address in twice and submitted teh last 4 digits of my credi tcard. 1. I don't remember doing it. 2. Why would I have typed in my wifes email address 3. I'm usually mega carefull about clicking on these things as I hate getting all the spam associated with them

Guess what i found on my statement although im suprised when i googled it i found a response on here.

A few months back i noticed thought it was strange but put it down to an ebay transaction. Then again this month i knew i hadnt spent anything and this shoopersdiscount crap was still on there. I think i have had it on there 6 months what a pi$$ take and also a bad reminder i dont know really what i purchase.

I think mine must have been added on by either easyjet or from the trainline where i remember reading about vouchers but you never realise youve signed up to anything.

OP did you manage to get your money back?

Cheers
Adam
