What if it happened here
The poles are pretty devestated by the deaths of their leaders and other govt types. All very sad.
The question I want to ask is.......What if the same thing happened here...would there be the same outpouring of grief.
The only thing i could compare it with would be Diana but she was a nice lass not a grey faced, grey suited political has been.
So what do you think would happen?

I keep saying this every 5th November, if this is the celebrations we have for someone that 'failed' at killing the Government, imagine if
Mr Fawkes had succeded.

No doubt the media would make it look like we were all devestated.
Look what happened with Diana. The press hated her before her death.

They'd have to make sure I wasn't in the picture then.

The out-pouring of sadness with Diana was public guilt. Everyone wanted to read the latest bit of dysfunctional stuff and realish in the failings of a
human being. Classic UK behaviour- we generally love people for about a year then get bored of them andturn on them with hatred. Then when they die we
feel guilt for having such a morbid interest. The psychopathic wailings for her death were too OTT to be heart-felt. People just felt guilty.
Though I do like Taveners "Song for Athene". Better than the load of borrocks Elton peddled.

I can't believe that there would be people crying and wailing in the street with grief if Gordy Brown were to kick the bucket....

The opposition party would be too busy looking for air fair receipts to slander them for fiddling the flight expenses......
But no I can't see any mass mourning taking place.

i KNOW they would be partying in the streets .
Di was popular as she was seen as young, good looking and a bit more down to earth than the normal royal lot.
as for the poles....well bliar and broon have brought us not much more than poverty and crime and have signed out rights away to brussles, poland has
been transformed from a former comunist back water to a modern and rich country thanks to the EU and our hard earned, they have a lot to be grateful
for,we dont !

The UK population would have to think whatever the media told us to think.....
It was the press that killed Di, after already character asassinating her several times..... and then they spotted another way of flogging papers by
telling us how good she was.......
We only see what the Polish media is feeding us. I'm sure there'll be some grumpy bloke somewhere shouting at his telly in Poland......
The press have a lot to answer for and so do the numptys that believe the crap they print!

I'd vote party, but I question if they'd be notable in their absence as everyone seems the same these days.
Depends where it happened, If it was somewhere we didn't trust there might be mourning and such.
If it wasn't the government but the Queen (Who is arguably a closer Parallele) I think there would be more mourning than there was for Diana.

I'm just looking forwards to this hung parliament we've been promised. Where do you reckon they'll carry it out? Tower of London?
Along the bridge gets my vote. And do they hang both parties, or just the one that looses?

Oh yes, I bet they are so very grateful for the 40 odd years of soviet rule turning the country to a communist backwater after Churchill and Roosevelt
gave the country away to the Russians.
