removing an internal wall

just a minor problem i could use a hand with. Ive read a guide to wall removal but i relates to ground floor walls with living space above. I need some pointers regarding first floor wall removal with just loft space above. Specifically, what weights you would use for imposed loading.

Ive already removed all walls and made new walls in 3x2 to keep it supported, really im trying to find how far wide i am of meeting part A requirements.

Might have to pull the lot out, ceiling and all, and do a loft conversion on it.

I'm down in Wakefield on Monday. Do you want me to call in and have a butchers at it on the way home?

My mate was an architect technician and he hated loft conversions to the point of refusing to do them any more as the planning and building regs for them are so complicated for fireproofing and separate enclosed staircase for access.

yours, Pete

I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.

get a structural surveyer to see if the loft floor will hold with current flooring.

i had the issue i had to lower the ceiling and got rid of a wall then had to build another to support the steels in the floors to ensure passed regs.

get a surveyer to look at it prior to getting the big hammer out.

hope that helps.

Thanks

Hi mike!

Its a house i have in bolton, which i dont get over to much.

Im very tempted to just complete and rent it until any deadlines have passed, but tbh im all out of money to finish it off with and the council are starting to pester me about finishing it!

Doesnt help that they are the freeholder too!
