OT - Recommend me a signal booster for the TV...

The TV signal round here is crap - but I've been getting along fine the last couple of years with a cheap signal booster that got me 90% of freeview.....

......untill two weeks ago - now it works for 5-10min then dies

so I'm looking for a decent mains powered booster that'll last without spending a fortune

any recommendations ?

cheers
-Robert

CPC do a good range of aerials and boosters - cheap too.

Sadly their website is utter tosh and a nightmare to navigate and find stock.

I used to have a MaxView. Had an excellent gain and wasn't that expensive. I'm Sky now so don't use one now.

and some helpful bumpf here!

They are 40 quid all in and dont get upgraded out of existance.
You could go hd for not much money..get one with a hard drive then you can record all the tv whilst you are arranging the components it a single bolted together pile that looks lot like a 50year old model.....lol maplins have them in dalry rd

I've already got my freeview DVD-WR/HDD box

I had thought about the freesat(/HD) but I don't actually watch that much TV (thats why it taken me 2 weeks to get round to sorting this) and I've only got a 20" screen (720p) - so I'm not sure its worth it....

what I really need is for certain cable company to get a cable out this way so I can get a better connection speed and if its got some free TV then thats a bonus

but seriously - in the short term a booster will do the job and in the slightly longer term I'll get another arial too
