Anyone recommend a campsite in cornwall/devon?
Going to be an unpopular subject for all you anti-caravanners...but can anyone recommend a good site for a touring caravan for me, her and the kids
down there, maybe close to the coast?
So many to choose from on the interweb, it's easier and safer to go off recommendations I find?
Thanks in advance for any help...
Rich.

I went to a place called trevornick as a kid and went back a few years ago with the ex-missus. Quite a big
site but close to a nice beach, little fun park and a pool with waterslide.
I'd go there again.

Little Trevarrick in Carbis Bay, just next to St Ives. Going there tomorrow actually with our caravan. Good clean site, next to a soft play area for
bad weather days, open air pool on site, games room, wi fi, mains water and drain connection if you want them, and you're right on top of some
of the best beaches in the country.
Cheers

I second Trevornick in holywell bay. Been there many times in the last 20 years. Its got everything you need. Golf, fishing, beach, clubhouse ,
funpark & pool. The kids will love it.

Go on uk campsite and put your chosen county in their search.
yours, Pete
I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.

We did a 'shakedown' weekend here in our tourer just after we bought it, its an excellent
site just off the beach, and only 4 miles from home!
If you can keep you head, whilst all others around you are losing theirs, you are not fully aware of the situation

Can't go wrong with Cornwall really - not so sure about Newquay these days - and agree St Ives is lovely and unspoilt! Spent many years working
Devon and Cornwall (Porthcurno) and loved it. Off to Polperro myself in a couple of weeks. Have a good one,
Cheers, Nick

Hi,
Hendra in Newquay is great for the kids / entertainment etc. There is a huge water park, outdoor pool, a few bars, entertainment on an evening.
It's not the cheapest as campsites go, but is very popular for the above reasons.
It's not smack bang on a beach, though we ride in on the bikes. There may well be a courtesy bus to the beach but please check this out
first.

Another place which is opposite the beach is http://www.porthbeach.co.uk/ though there is bugger all on site. There is a pub straight opposite on the
beach.
Watergate bay is another "half decent" location, the beach there is great but its a fair walk from the campsite. Small club on the site
with a "bit" of entertainment. Small outdoor pool.

If your into "flitting about from site to site", there are a couple of nice sites at Pentewan nr Mevagissey.
Namely:
http://www.sunvalley-holidays.co.uk/
and
http://www.pentewansands.com/
The above is purely my own opinion, we can move at the drop of an hat if we don't like a place, so please do your own research, lol.

Assuming you can get down here without leaving your GRP box strewn all over the M5/A30, there are many good sites. Depends what you want though, and
only you know that, or probably don't.
Hendra is a great big park, lots of things to do, as has been said. Nice one outside of Bude, Flexbury that's a lot smaller, but still busy.
Watergate bay's great, but costly, just check out the beach bar/club prices.... whay hey, not locost.
So, yep, come on down to the dead land of the (un)dead retiree.... why the hell anyone would come down here though, Spain's lovely and warm at
least...

Nah, you don't want to come to Cornwall - Devon is less far and much tidier.
I've got a little black book with my poems in!
