Iphone, is there a difference....
between the screen for the 3G and 3GS ?
Everything I read says they are the same phone externally but the screen for the 3G
is more expensive !
Need to replace he one on my nieces iphone.

See:

Edited to add: But the 4G is out soon which supposedly has the same 1G processor as an ipad (600mHz? on a 3GS)and a much high res screen than an
3G(S)

Is it the LCD that needs replacing or the digitiser?
Actualy, you might as well get the whole assembly
for this price. That is so much cheaper than the screen for the 2G (and so much easier to replace!).

just gone on a month contract hoping that the 4g will be out soon.

if its really expensive the damage may be covered by her household insurance.
Certain bank accounts have phone cover as well.
These smart phones screens are alway going to be vulnerable.
Have a google for a sci phone. 68 quid copy. Some times the fake makes sense cause how many use all the functions on a phone.
A mate told me that apple put a litmus paper into the case and If they open it and find the papers turned a different colour the void the warranty as
they say it has been exposed to moisture.

Just the outer digitiser needs replacing as it's cracked, still works though. Not worth
paying £38 when I can get a screen only for £12-£20 and they are easy enough to do.
Done a couple of ipods recently.
As for the 4G comments, if it came to that it'd be for me not a 15 year old niece who
is already on her 5th phone in two years

If you sign up for the barclays bank account that offers insruance then you will get your money. Friend cracked his screen, then got the insruance,
then the money was soon in his account!
Edit: With an iphone

Ipods are easy enough, but when I tried to replace the glass in mine I managed to crack the lcd in the process of remove the glass which is stuck on
the lcd.
Personally, I reckon the whole lot for £38 is the way to go...

Maybe the next one should stay broken, that's what happened to me if I broke something I had to put up with it being broke. Taught me not to
break it.
