someone recommend a decent but cheap heart rate monitor
as per title really. would like a heart monitor so i can document resting and post-exercise heart rate to monitor my progress.
i have had a look on eBay and there is such a variety ranging from ones costing a few quid to a hundred pound. i dont really know which ones are a
good make and which ones to avoid.
i dont mind if its wrist or chest strapped.
i await your expert recommendations

Well it is Locostbuilders
(although you might have to DIY rather than getting in a white coated person)

Yeah really, it is that easy ..... you don't need a monitor unless you want to do blood pressure.
Just do if for 15 secs and times by 4 .....

If you are going to get a proper HRM then stick with Polar gear as they are the most compatible. I bought a Polar watch with HRM function a few years
ago and it came with a chest band. This same chest band can be used on a wide range of running machines and is much more accurate than the metal pads
which some running machines have to try measuring heart rate.
Something like this perhaps:

haha, i knew one of you would suggest that. i find that i cant measure my own but can do others. As for the white coat, already got one!
craig - i've seen the polar ones and they look good with some positive reviews. think i will take a look at their range.
