Sea fishing
Anyone done any? I've been trying to go mackerel fishing now for two years but whenever we manage to go down the coast it's all booked up.
Just organised a last minute trip to Norfolk and guess what.....  Wondered about doing some beach-casting and seeing if I bump into anything. I was
hoping to get a beginners noddy trip on a boat because I'm more into FF than sea-fishing but hey ho how hard can it be?
Anyone done any sea fishing up near Norfolk way? I'm thinking about just getting some feathers and bunging them in near Wells-next-the-sea but
realistically I think the water's a bit shallow and not so sure I'll get any dinner ...

Used to do it with my Dad years ago in the Solent. Bass, Plaice & Eels mainly.
I did try it in Maritius  King Fish, Barracuda, Tuna

Wanted to take the lad out last August (holiday in Cornwall) but the weather was too bad
You a fly fisherman? Are you on the Fly Forum ?
Fly fishing (and tying) is my game, my mates go sea fishing but they catch very little. With rough ground rods you feel very little fight. I just wait
until the bass are in 
How about some mullet fishing any harbours about? Just use a 10' spinning rod and bread.

Only started fly fishing last few months, I quite fancy getting into the tying side of things although I do worry I'm short-sided enough as it
is

To be honest beach fishing in Norfolk is not that great in the summer around here, some flatfish and bass but not great to be honest. Boat fishing
offshore is a much better bet, plenty of bass, flatfish and dogfish, some rays and decent tope fishing around the wash. Winter is much better for
beach fishing when the whiting and cod move inshore.
Personally I'd bring my freshwater gear, the rivers are fishing really well at the moment.

Norfolk
I visit North Norfolk regularly to see my parents , you're lucky if you even see the sea at Wells ,Blakeney etc I think you would have to get
out in a boat, the river at Kings Lynn seems possible, there's always a good few fishermen on Cromer pier.

Any body can catch mackerel with anything on the hook or just a shiny hook - the secret is finding them! If they're not there you can waste many
an hour - been there, done that.
I've just been re-living my boyhoood fishing canals from a boat. Started off with maggots until they got to the just about to hatch stage,
caught loads of little roach bream and perch. Chucked the casters away and then started fishing on my new super bait, Tesco's finest ewe's
milk cheese Ossau Iraty - caught a very nice roach then the biggest bream I've ever caught.
Home smoked trout is lovely. I was a guest on the Derbyshire Derwent last year and my mate smoked my catch within half an hour of landing it -

Yes, I was thinking that whilst looking at a picture of the beaches up there quite a long walk to get to the water!!

I've caught some very nice (large) carp from lakes in Norfolk.
The most consistent in shore and rock fishing for me has always been in Dorset.
You only live once - make the most of it!

That's only the beaches on the North coast, particularly Holkham, huge beach, absolutely enormous when the tide is out, beautiful beach though.
On the East coast, Winterton, Horsey, Sea Palling they're normal.

I go Mackerel Murdering quite often off the Island at St Ives - I have never come home without a catch, a few times so many we had to take them to
Newlyn fish market!
If you can keep you head, whilst all others around you are losing theirs, you are not fully aware of the situation
