Honeymoon (places in Scotland)

Evenin all, Im getting wed next June and and thought Id ask the great locost community of knowledge on a place to stay. We both want to stay in UK and have decided on bonnie Scotland, pref Loch Lomond as we both love the peace and tranquility of the lakes. So any recommendations? Ideally self catering log cabin over looking the lake.
thanks
Russ

Pitlochry area, really nice around there. We once had a holiday in a place called Butterstone between Pitlochry and Blairgowrie, had a great time, very peaceful, very scenic, great for walking, fishing, wildlife spotting, just chilling out (you may not need too much suntan cream though)

http://www.cameronhouse.co.uk/cameron-house.html if money is no object.

http://www.athollpalace.com/ is pretty spectacular if a little faded glory.

http://www.crieffhydro.com/ was nice.

A friend of mine runs this place in Tyndrum, a bit north of Loch Lomond.

If you're looking for high quality seclusion but handy for Loch Lomond and the west coast, you could do worse.

the also have B&B rooms in the main house just along the road.

Perthshire is pretty central for all of Scotland IMHO

Dunkeld house hilton
or a wee bit farther north if you want secluded

or nearer perth and cosy for two.

Take a run and spend a night or two at Applecross, the road is spectacular.

some bits are worse than others though...

I always thought Loch Lomond in summer = Ned's from Glasgow - there are much better places you could go

some of the western isles are well worth looking at, but midges are a big problem on some of them at that time of year (Eigg, Rum.....)

I would also say that the Perthshire area is a good bet... Kenmore, Pitlochry, Aberfeldy, Dunkeld.

Next for me would be the west coast... anywhere around the Glenfinnan to Mallaig route.

The train-trip is well worth it (if the weathers good!).
