none of those are cars i would buy. Do you want comments on style or practicality?!
im getting a citroen ax, cos im out of dough nearly, and want a cheap reliable car. obviously thats a crap car to choose, but it fits the job, so the
pride is getting swallowed.

The new hyundai coupe V6 looks good. Probably quite a bit more dough than the standard one.

Hmmn, the Hyundai and Toyota look, well, err, umm, never mind...
New MINI's are alright (he says grudgingly), but why not get a real Mini? Loads more fun, cheap as chips and "feel" fast yet are
slow enough you won't be looking at a ban every six months. If you do want to go fast, well you've got all that extra cash you
didn't spend on a crap new car then, don't you?
And...
Unlike most modern cars, you can actually see through the windows.
Sorry, bit of a Mini zealot, don't get me started on the Germans...
Cheers, Ted

My wife just got a Alfa GTV (1998). Cramped, can't see out of it, none too fast, turning circle of an oil tanker and flimsy build....but looks
superb and very stylish interior, typical Italian. I told he to build her own car and she could be like us! That's why she bought the Alfa...
Go for the Mini. Should be reliable, holds it's money and easy to sell when you want to get rid.

have you sat in a new mini?
dissapointing.
for a bigger car, same crappy boot room.
Impossible to get passengers behind the driver cos the seat needs to be right back.
Its also a bit girlie if that worries you.
the older mini.......
The older mini (i have had 2) is a fun car to drive. But in 2004, who wants a 1959 designed car as a daily driver? Having your legs splayed and knees
behing your ears is ok for a short while (ask yer gf ) but not the sort of ride id want every day. Thats apart from the noise and bouncy ride. If
you are not a mini enthusiast, just about every small car since 1975 is better......

Get one of the last Ford Pumas. Cracking car, better handling than any of the above, 1.7l variable cam timing engine is cracking, lovely gearshift.
Bigger boot than a Mini but rear seats are fairly token (it's a 3 seater basically).
Should be able to get a mint low miler for well under 9k.
Could even get a racing puma but they are harder to look after (racing 4 pots need regular rebuilds).

Go for a Fiat Coupe - looks better than the others, as much room as the Toyota or the mini (not sure about the Hyundai), goes like stink in turbo
form. I have done 7k miles in mine since I got it in March and still get a buzz each time I drive it.
If it must be one of the list, the Mini is the logical choice, Toyaota the reliable one, not sure where that puts the Hyundai, but I do like them.

My Mum's got a Mini and I don't like it. Seats don't support you, the dash is horribly and really plasticy, and the 6 speed auto box
in hers is crap. It does handle well though - but as Steve says, don't try to get in the back.
I tried to talk her into a Fiat Coupe - that would be my choice too....
I like the look of the Toyota though (don't know how it drives, but think the Hyundia looks sh*t.

Alfa 156... there will be plenty going soon. My company is getting rid of 26 of them... any offers above £5! They are too unreliable and costing the
earth! Gorgeous looking car tho' - little consolation when it's in the garage being fixed constantly!
Didn't they get 1st place in reliability JD Power... 1st place as in holding up every other car?

Apparently the handling in the fiat coupe (especially the 20V Turbo) only just copes with the power, but it really does have a lot of power and power
is nice
I think the Celica is meant pretty good but not particularly exciting.
I'd still say Puma if space isn't a huge issue (and to be honest only the Hyundai offers decent room out of that lot)
