Tele depression
Hello all
Correct me if i am wrong but i thought Christmas was supposed to be a happy time full of cheer and celebration for the family and kids etc.
Why is it the people who pick the television programmes are hell bent on depressing people, the weekly crap programmes are full of kids going missing
or about to die, most of the films are blood guts and killing people and the new is full of murder, missing people etc.
You would have though some bright spark would realise that it would be a good idea to try and raise the spirt of people a little bit,no wonder people
are sat at home bored.

Very true, but the TV is supposed to be about entertaining people and children like to watch films etc
My ten year old put the TV on this morning and then after 10 mins came to me and said i have turned it off its all doom and gloom!
If a ten year old is picking that message up what hope is there for the rest of us.
Does nothing good happen anymore for the news to report on,why is it all the films focus on the Gun/Knife/murder and the detail of it etc instead of
the plot.ie if you watch a western film from 20-30 years ago there were guns people getting shot, hanged but it never focused on death, blood, guts,it
was about the story and the stars.
Kids film were about finding treasure and adventure not been taken away by a crazed madman or been beaten up and left for dead, even most of the video
games now are teaching kids about fighting and killing and what happen when you chop there heads off etc
Very strange world

Get some Christmasy (?) DVD's and put them on in the background - The Polar Express and other "nice" films. The TV being crap at
Christmas isn't novel - it's been sh1te and depressing for years

Xmas telly was really poor this year!
In the prime time slots on our two flagship channels we had Family Feckin Fortune and Dads Army!
It's Evolution Baby!

here hear. Or hear here.
it is because 'we' as a society has demanded greater freedoms, and now we find that outrageous films like the Saw series are acceptable.
It is no wonder that society is declining when we fill our heads with this shite.
I remember when TMNT was released as 'teenage mutant hero turtles' because 'ninja' was too extreme for the title. How things
have changed.

The who framed Roger Rabbit film is a case in point,i sat down with a cup of tea and my son to watch it this morning and what did we see! The rabbit
locked in the oven with the heat turned up full!! two mins later it manages to get out on fire and run round the house!!!! i sat there for the next 5
mins telling my 6 year old daughter that it is very dangerous to go anywere near the oven and put anything in it with out an adults permission.
Great!!

Come on we was brought up with a cat and mouse beating the shite out of each other with hammers, anvils and flaming arrows!
Although telly has been p**spoor... Hopefully the Christmas lectures will make up for it

Thats my point!
If they made Tom and Jerry now it would show blood spurting out, heads been chopped off, torture etc and in graphic detail how to inflict it.
