Happy Birthday :(

Was my 33rd birthday yesterday and I spent it on my back. Don't know what happened to me, not happened before but I got a severe pain in my back, couldn't sit up, stand up or walk. Just started on the Saturday and I can just about sit here and type for 10 mins or so.

If that's not bad enough, sometime after I went to bed at 3:30 and the missus kicked the noisy cat out at 4:00, some bastard has been in my house and stolen my wallet, PDA and digicam !! Stupid of me to leave a window open a little. Anyway it seems the cats meow and the missus shouting at him to 'go away' must have scared the twat away.

Oh and he took the wifes car keys but didn't get past the imobiliser.

Nothing you lot can do about it but a problem shared etc.

Cheers lads, been to see the doctor today and he's given me some anti-inflamitary (sp?) tablets and painkillers.

Seems a bit better but I won't be at work for at least a week, which is a real bugger because the tight arses don't pay me when I'm off sick just SSP after 3 days.

Gonna get in touch with the insurance tomorrow to see if they'll pay out even though I left a window open.

my sympathy

Tough luck mate,
I can empathize, I'm now well into my 5th month laid off work with a buggered back.
I doubt the thieving scum would be as brazen if the justifiable homicide law was passed....

sleeping on the floor really helped me, no give in it so you know where you stand (or lie as the case may be), i spent 2 whole days lying on the floor, as it gradually got better. use your arms more to pull yourself up etc, and by no accounts get angry and think "sod the pain, im getting up!". it doesnt help...
