Tilting Mobile Ramps

Has anyone purchased one of these items. Are they any good?
I would like to know if they are Man enough for everyday mechanics, as well as working on the Indy.
There is a place over at Heywood, Manchester that manafacture these ramps for about £450.00 inc Vat.

Any views would be appreciated, thanks in advance. Eric.

I got a set second hand from here, and they're excellent. I had to fit the widening kit to clear my exhaust, and I have to put my car on low axle stands to get the ramp under (again because of my exhaust that has very little clearance under the car). Once it's up in the air, it makes it much easier. I was able to poke around with my starter motor and change the oil sitting down. Very solid, there is a locking pin to set the angle that the car sits at (provided you've got the pivot approximately under the centre of gravity).

Regards,
Dave

Tilting Scissor Lift

I bought mine from a place in Heywood near Manchester, great bit of kit, came with 3 sets of bars, so for me was set narrow for my MNR, no problem lifting, you get everything with it, it lifted my car to 580mm off the floor, then allowed me to tilt it backward or forwards, this allowed me to have the car with nosecone fitted in my garage and my other car parking under the back end.

Awesome kit, doesn't come really cheap at £550, but worth every penny in my opinion, I now need another one :-)

Cheers

Nick

Indybird

I sold mine to member Indybird, who was looking at selling it, but it may have gone now, don't look for another alternative, there aren't any unless you are prepared to spend a couple of grand on a pillar lift.

There are however several people doing a tilting scissor lift as all of them are imported from Alibaba in China and re badged, I saw the same lift in different colours at newark in 2010, similar price, you might be able to barter down to £400?

BUY IT...
