Weekend break away?

On the off chance that anyone knows anyone who knows anyone who's got such a thing and is looking for someone to fill a weekend, or if someone has recently been on such and suggest somewhere quiet for a weekend away?

Sort of the reverse of a city-break really, sticking within the UK and wanting somewhere quiet and different, ideal would be a tiny self catered cottage in the middle of nowhere or the wing of large house or something, not overly fussed where at all, although the lake district or scotland springs to mind although obviously not too stupidly accessible to get to for a short stay. Looked at one place on the Isles of Scilly which looks great but need to look into availability, cost, and getting there!!

Thoughts on a postcard.

what about Barra - you can fly over from Glasgow if you've not got much time to get there (you land on the beach )
there of cottages etc. to pick from and the island is just big enough to have a few pubs and shops so its not totaly dead

the airport:

failing that there are loads of other places up the north west coast or on the other western isles
