Club President
I've just been asked to be the President of a snooker club.
Now whilst I am a member of said club, I am only a member because it is in my building where my office is and I want to have the odd game very
occasionally (once or twice a year). I hardy know any of the members.
Having never done this before I am wondering what sort of responsibilities a club president might have and whether there are any legal
implications?

Sorry to have my cynical cap on but if they want someone who they hardly know and turns up once every 6 months or so then what's this position
like?
I get the impression they all got together and after nobody volunteered they went through the list of names of non-regular members.. I could be
totally wrong though, by all means find out from them what it involves.

sounds odd.
My dad is involeved in the local snooker leagues, he has been club president, but he has run a team for years, been properly involved. Seems strange
they want somebody who rarely uses the club to be president, I reckon best avoided no matter how flattering.
Unless you have pots of money (or they think you have) and they want some refurb work paid for?

No doubt you'll find one of the President's responsibilities is to open and close the club and take in deliveries - or am I being
cynical????
BTW it's SWMBOs birthday today. Managed to book a late table for tonight - trouble is she isn't much good at snooker!
