Anyone else getting sims??

Anyone know if there are any scams or such on the go regarding mobile phones at the moment??

Yesterday I recieved in the post a vodaphone sim card ( never ordered one.
Today an email from tesco saying a sim card that I have ordered ( which I did not) is being sent out soon.??

Now given I am with orange and use less than £50 a year on the mobile then I doubt I am their most favoured candidate for any freebies. So a scam or just a mass postal/email marketing scenario.

If it looks wrong it probably is wrong.

Some mobile operators give a reward to new and existing customers if they recommend you for a free sim.

Re Orange log on to the Orange web site with your phone number and check your phone fund credit --- you get £1 for every tenner you top up and there are some good buys of phones in the Orange shop.

I received a few pay as you go ones recently but not in my name. Then the rest of the post started, loans credit cards etc with my address but someone elses name. Shredded any application forms and cut up any simms etc and binned the lot

Strangely not one of the companies that I contacted to let them know this was happening seemed even vaguely interested. No suprises then that there is so much fraud when no one seems to be bothered that people are trying it on.

Those are only the ones you managed to find, so what about the ones you did not get ??
might be worth doing a credit search on those names at your property

I had this happen about 20 years ago with my next door neighbour, he got found out, and put away

yeah, sounds like someone else has used your address to sign up to something....

I've got 2 orange phones (1 £25/m contract, 1 pay as you go that I've not put any new credit on in the last 7 years )
had them both for more than 10 years and never had any junk mail, texts or phone calls on either of them
