motor brushes

I'm struggling to find some motor brushes for an old Titan saw. I've found some pretty close ones that I could file down from 12.5mm x 5mm to 11mm x 5mm, but they don't have springs or caps.

Is it going to be as easy as I hope to apply some flux to the braid and solder them in to the caps on the old brushes?

Cheers

Gary

It might need to be conductive but I don't see why not... Worth a try anyway

I've modified brushes like this several times, shouldn't have a problem though you want to make sure not too much solder gets wicked up the braid or it won't flex any more.
