Skateboard

anyone got an old ('70s / '80s) skateboard gathering dust in the attic? I've recently re-discovered my love of skateboarding after spending many hours, sat on a park bench, getting bored watching my six year old enjoying her scooter... If you can't beat em... (apparently it's called 'middle aged shred'. I'm looking for a good quality 'old school' board (complete or just parts): Sims, G&S, Powell, Z-Flex, Alva etc etc. I'm sure there's several of you '40 somethings' out there who will recognise those brands and maybe remember a few more. If you need your memory jogged <http://www.jsctech.co.uk/skateboard/pickapage.html>

Cant help with the skateboard but funnily enough, since my 11 year old got really into his BMX'ing last year, he has saved all his money & bought a really nice BMX, i had a go & it took me back.

Today we are finishing the topcoat on the frame of our 'old skool' BMX project (technically Mid skool) but its about 21 years old & we found it in a neighbours skip !

Completely stripped & repainted everything, new bearings throughout & when we build it in the next couple of weeks, it'll be mine so i no longer need to watch him, i can join in

Some photos in my archive of our progress, got a few more to upload too.

Good luck with the search, your never too old or thats what i keep telling myself @ 37 years old

Give a man a fish & it will feed him for a day, give him a fishing rod & you've saved a fish.

I was into BMX too, I rode for Kuwahara for a couple of years during the mid eighties. I sold my last BMX only a few years ago, it was a 24" Robinson with Flight cranks etc etc. Great fun
