Yes, we had a great time. Only downer was the whole 'loo paper in a bin" thing. I prefer Cyprus for the 'normal' plumbing.

went many years ago,plenty interesting history and nice weather.
as jeff w said twas a bit smelly in the little boys room but as soon as the locals find out you are English,they love you.....dont go if you are German tho

been three times, to Rethymnon in '98 when I was 16 (big family holiday), to Stalis in 2005 (lads holiday), to Agios Nikolas in 2012 (honeymoon). All were great for the ocassion

Personally I think it's a great place. On honeymoon I hired a bicycle and rode up from Agios Nikolas to Katharou plateau, at sea level it was 25 degree, above the plateau there was snow! Plenty of beautiful scenery andlots of historic stuff if you're into that. ..

As above, always found people in restaurants etc to be nice, but I've not been to other Mediterranean countries so perhaps that's just standard?

Went a few years ago and really enjoyed it, You won't see many Germans there as there is some painful History...

We went in the summer, weather was great and the people were lovely. Only downer was that outside of the hotel the place was really run down.

Don't take a cute little blonde baby with you, it'll take hours to get anywhere as every local has to make a fuss.
