Close shaves
It's hard to comprehend the far east flood disaster, but in the past few days I've had:
My daughter's boyfriend's brother rang from Thailand to say that he'd escaped from the tsunami by doing a u-turn in the road and
driving the other way - fast. Two members of the wedding party he was with are missing. He's currently staying out there to help out as much as
he can.
My niece recently rang from Thailand to say that she wasn't near the coast, but would be coming home soon. In the mean time she's giving
blood to help out.
So near, so near.

I'm in Thailand at the moment!
Luckily we are on the East side of Thailand on an island called Koh Tao. We had planned to visit Phi Phi, but for no particular reason changed our
minds shortly before leaving for Thailand
The Thai people here are making a good job of getting on with things, but most them have friends or family that they are worried about.
The news coverage here seems to be patchy and largely American led.
Not much else to say really - see you when we get home!
