Website site issues

Calling website designers - Under our official website Lydden Hill events 2022, there is also a drop down menu showing events at Lydden Hill Race Circuit 2022. The list is all out order and I am told we cannot do anything about as it is a Google site issue. Is this true?

Please Google "Lydden Hill events 2022" when shown do not open but scroll down and you will see an "Events" listing. When you look at "more events" you will see the dates are all out of order and wrong pictures shown. The guy in the office responsible for this says nothing can be done about it surely this wrong

That page belongs to google so your web guy has no direct control over it, there is no technical reason why they can't parse the date and order the events correctly but knowing google they have probably ordered it by which link has had the most clicks and so generates the most money for them.

Bingo on that - Google is massively money driven.

I'm told Google also only rank websites on mobile criteria now too (again as that's where the money is).

Google are a business and have a thirst for more money and the quickest most effective way there.

LBMEFM - is it not possible to take back some design control so the website can be organised the way you want it (may have to spend some to get there though).

Have a look at this document, it may give you an idea of how to structure your data so that it is correctly recognised by the google events api.

https://developers.google.com/search/docs/advanced/structured-data/event

Other than that, it is just google's parsed data from your website, which as mentioned is shown during mobile searches before links to your actual site - whether that actually reduces the visited numbers on your actual site is another thing, but removing your data might push the site down the rankings and further reduce the site visits.
