Can't recommend anything, but a neighbour fitted a camera system to watch his van overnight.

The recording element was "movement triggered" - i.e. it only started recording to the SD card when triggered by movement in a zone.

From memory he got around 30 minutes of capture per SD card.

It also rang his mobile when it started capturing - so he got an alert.

You may want to look for these kind of features.

Van parked really tight against the garage door overnight.
You'd have to move the van to get in the garage.

ideally it will have a couple of minutes buffer, so will save the 'arrival' before they were close enough to trigger it. and carry on for a few minutes after too.

If it's just one camera, look at reolink. They do both wifi and 4g versions, with solar power as well.
The app works well, but if you need more than one camera then hikvision.

I'd recommend wired and night vision active - wifi is too easy to block---

I have swann I think - generic brand from costco - has 1TB HDD and stores about a week from 4 cams,. 2 setups so there is some redundancy too

Fisher Fury was 2000 Zetec - now a 1600 (it Lives again and goes zoom)

A copper suggested having one on the fence pointing back into the property. They apparently don't expect them catching faces on the way out.

I have a mixture of wired hikvision (very good when i bought them, I think they're still a good brand - look at the make of cameras in department stores / large fast food chains, they're often hikvision) and amazon blink (wifi). The blinks are battery powered and the batteries last 12 months (or with a battery pack 24 months). You can also power most of them via USB. I've got some around my garage powered by USB. They're not as good as the hikvision but on amazon prime for 100 quid I'm not arguing. I've got a USB stick in the blink hub and everything is saved to that. You can also pay £8 per month to have the video's in the cloud and 30 days access.

When the blink's activate my phone gets a ping. You can connect to the blinks and hold a conversation with someone (i've never done that).

Getting registrations from cameras isn't easy. You'll need to get very good ones and ensure you have good lighting. Headlights are great at blinding cameras.
