Whats the best GPS NAV unit to buy IYHO
Looking at getting a nav unit thats portable between the five van/cars/sevens that I drive or co pilot. Some offer stuff for pdas but a dedicated
unit would be a better thing as we have often found that STRAP ONS often are just a compromise. I already use garmin for equipment locations at work
but its a basic waypoint model with limited mapping. So I was interested what others had used
If it has camera locations it would be great.
Ideas lads and if anyones got one all the better. Colour screen would be nice with UK mapping and European upgradable

My mother has just bought a TomTom and I'm really impressed with it. I had to drive into a field before it eventually gave up and asked me to
perform a U-turn. It new roads around Collingham/Swinderby that I never new existed
And you can have cameras as your place of interest so you get warning.

I have an Ipaq palm pc and I've used a number of systems. The TomTom on that was ok, I'd use it again but the GPS receiver broke. I then
got Destinator - which really sucks, its hopeless. I'm currently using CoPilot 5 which is really good and I'm happy with. Its more of a
faff having two units (GPS and Ipaq) but the batteries on both last ok so it's pretty hands-free.

girlfriend has the tom tom ipaq ,plug it into the cigarette lighter ,stick it on the window and away you go

The best i've found so far is the Blue Media Navigon BM-6300, better than the Tom Tom and more up to date.
Can show speed cameras too.

I have the XDA 2i, and was told to buy the Tomtom pack for it. Seems to be the best one, and only £135.
Doesnt matter what Sh*t life throws at you, there is always some other poor bugger worse off!!!!!

go with the tomtom. tomtom 2 is good and you can download speed cameras like the snooper has

Have used Tom Tom 2 and now have version 3 which is an improvement on 2, and i thought 2 was great!!!!! Running it on an IPAQ with the Tom Tom
bluetooth receiver which is small and neat.

CheckPOInt tells you where all the speed camera's are.
I bought the GPS Receiver from eBay for 89.00
Can't really fault it, it got us to the SVA station in Manchester without a hitch, and it's good for eBay collections
