Good bye old friend......
I lost an very dear old friend...I had to sell the "ox"(short for Oxidation) today..My 65 microbus. Anyone who has had a long term V.W.
relationship knows how much this hurts. A relationship that has seen pride of owner ship, joys of handywork, long walks and primal screaming, often,
all on the same drive to work. My wife does'nt understand how "guys can grow attached to a stupid car"....so I get no sympathy from
her.
For the record "stupid cars"are the ones you HAVE to work on(like my wifes). not the ones you want to work on. I once read in a poll by
Clck and Clack the Tappet bros the bus was #1 on the ten worst vehicals of all time. They sited that there was so little structure in front of the
driver that your kneecaps were the first line of defence in a collision. It also found the bus to have the most loyal following!
So, I need to know I'm not alone, please tell me about the car/cars you most regreted getting rid of..
In morning. Fletch
..Women, can't shoot'em...
I'd rather have a bottle in front of me than a frontal labotomy...

why did you sell it?
i regretted getting rid of my first car. particularly the bit about wrapping it around a tree, ending up in hospital for 9 days, losing my job, and
being on crutches for 3 months.
ahh, the joys of being 19.....

Just had to sell my bike( see my archive)
Like you say it hurts ....and the wife dont care
Very hard Sunday when all I could hear was litre sports bikes going past the end of my road at full chat.....
But it was for the best I never did less than 100mph and always found some where to do 150+ ...And I can't build my locost if im 6ft
under ....So ive hung up my gloves while im ahead...
As they say" thats life"

I was really sad to consign my Mini to the scrapheap. I had no where to store it off road while I saved up enough money to sort out the acres of
rust.
I decided to send it off with a bang, and chopped most of it up with an axe, and then took it to the scrap metal merchants....
Andy
Dammit! Too many decisions....

Sold my F27 on Sunday,
Somehow it just didnt look right with some stranger in the drivers seat with a big grin on his face and revving it ready to scream off in the other
diection
Hay ho though it breathes new life into my new project.

I had two beetles, a '57 oval and a 73 thing.
Both were crap, and I took great pleasure cutting them both into tiny pieces!
