Spend yer money, and get insulted for free...

This may be of interest to anybody thinking of upgrades to their (Ford) engines in the near future.....

For customer sevice at its best (not) click here.

I guess that a Locost owner would need the Scrounging Git version.....

The idea of any locost builder buying anything from Dunnell Engines is bizarre

John
(maybe if I come up on the lottery, they do some nice Zetec stuff)

True. But putting a comment like that on a customer receipt is also bizarre....
Maybe one day whem your MECs are selling well, you have a bit of cash to spare and you do fancy some bits from them. Dont forget to tell them that you have built your car yourself. Ooh yeah, and tell us what they put on your receipt....

Macca, if he was a regular customer then I would take your point. but I somehow doubt that they will get the chance. I'm all for a bit of p1ss taking, but imagine how you would feel if a sarky comment turned up on the bill the last time you bought something for your car. Banter between mates is fair enough, but from a company that you have never dealt with before takes over 100 beer tokens off you, and then puts something like that on the bill because you bought their cheaper option....
Glad I've got a Vauxhall motor

ive worked in a couple of motor factors and they all do stupid things to take the wee out of customers

but the trade guys get it most or regular customers that everyone knows but to do that with a guy of the street who had never used us b4 would be a sackable offence

Lets just look at the facts again, the bloke had phoned the company a few months ago.
When talking about a zetec install, received negative information.
Spoke to them about other companies(competion)and they slagged them off!
Now at this point I would be asking the question, do I really want to deal with this company?
The answer, YES!
So I bought this off them last week!!!!!!

I think the comment is well deserved but could possibly of been a little more cutting.

I bought some stuff off Dunnels and found them to be very helpful, and yes I told them I was building a MK.
When I went to pick up the bits they gave me loads of help and advice, even explained why not to spend money on some so called upgrades. They even offered to open up outside normal hours if I wanted to collect my parts.

At the end of the day I think I would have called them if I was upset with their actions and sorted it out! They're not a large company so the MD may well be the bloke who sends out the parts! I think there's bigger things to worry about in life...

Bought some bits from them for our Locost(they are in our home town). Not the cheapest in the world, but certainly the most convenient. Very surprised to see that sort of thing on the bill. They were very helpful to us. They are very small, whenever I have been there I have only ever seen two guys, one of which is the MD. I suspect that we are not hearing the whole story here!

Has anybody considered the possibility that they were joking? Sounds like it to me
