next meeting there (Trent autograss club, boiling wells farm, south Rauceby) is 14th August I think.

There's loads of clubs in the eastern area though, have a look on here -

not got you thinking now have we!!!

I reckon I'm going to struggle to get the 4cyl saab 2.3 turbo engine and box into a mini bodyshell, a mate has a ford cvh rear engined mini (transverse jobbie) and that's tight!

Think the 5 cyl Volvo idea is definitely too long to fit in!

I did have a very rotten suzuki sc100 "wizzkid" 'shell that I was going to use but it was just too rotten, gone to the scrappy now!

Should get the new gear ratios for my class 9 in the next couple of weeks so hopefully might start winning again then (just in time for the end of the season)

well T4 engine is shorter - redblock 4 is same length as a 5 cyl , me thinks a T4 with some rods/pistons would easily stand 450 hp thats £800, and would be useable with Megasquirt .

what about a newer mini !!

now yu've got me listening! I guess you don't mean the base engine and the rods and pistons would be £800, just the rods and pistons?

If you mean that's the cost for the lot then, hmmmmmm, interesting! Do I remember you saying the T4 fits the T5 gearbox (or is the T4 'box the same in terms of strength for 450hp anyway?)

yeah , the whiteblock series all fit one another , so gearbox should be ok, im only saying that on hearsay from a swedish chap whos putting 700 hp from a T5 through a manual transmission .

£800 for the rods pistons !! - youd need a turbo engine to base it on since they have oil squirters .

the 5 cylinders have two different head castings turbo/na for compression ratio obviously but also the NA has a bigger port , so it may be possible to do mucking about with heads etc .

ive never had a T4 apart and looked at the finer detail to say if that were the case .

Im sure you could find a T4 engine on the cheap - and some of the chip companies like TME etc are gaining towards 300 hp on a std engine .

definitley worth a look at .

If i get a bellhousing adapter done - all the 4/5/6 ally (whiteblock) engines will fit in me locost chassis !!

could always go inline and mate it to a audi gearbox ...............

should have plenty of room then as you can put the engine in at an angle and point it towards the passenger seat.
