Other forums?

With all the talk of other forums and websites etc, thought I'd inform you of two places that furnish me with most of my enthusiasm and info on car building (as I don;t just do "7" type stuff, I do a fair bit on Opel Mantas for the OMOC and also my grasser and lots besides!)

first is www.valvers.com

check out the forums section, and look at project diaries.

Have a look at the "manta v6 coupe" bit.

"Animal" on there is brilliant. He is afraid of no mechanical task!!!

Have a look at his Toyota GT4 bit and you'll see what I mean. he bough a perfectly good one as a runabout while building the (now v8) manta coupe, the proceeded to strip it, rebuild the engine and modify it so much he needed another runabout!!

The chevette v8 is pretty nice too.

The other one is the ubiquitous www.beardmorebros.co.uk

John Beardmore is an inspiration to anybody considering doing a half arsed job of something........this just doesn't rank in his thought processes!!!

I have seen his moggy minor at Curborough and the attention to detail is awesome.

I don't think he's on Migweb much now..............I certainly don't bother with it much.

A few too many chav types on there who know nowt. There are a few who really know their stuff but it takes ages to get to know who!!

I use the Opel Manta Owners Club forum a bit too. Sad I know but that is the car I know more about than any other, like down to every nut and bolt and screw, having stripped and rebuilt far too many of the bleeders now!!

i know of animal from the valvers site and have trawled through the diaries of their builds in the past. I got my reground crank from animal, some of the last of his xe bits iirc, he works in Bracknell which isn't too far, think the last time i spoke he said he was putting an LS1 in his manta

yep he is, but you can't really call it a manta any more, its a full spaceframe!!!!

I was doing the same 2 years ago but then got too busy with racing to get it done.

It's on the project back burner to do after the 7 is finished, after my class 7 grasser is built, and as long as I don't fool myself into thinking that I can compete in rallycross

From what I saw, Valvers looks more like my cup of tea. I may drop in there from time to time. Thanks NS Dev.
