OT - hotels in york centre

hi everybody!

Anyone live in york happen to know a (good) hotel in the centre? The missus is trying to organise her friends hen night up there, but is having no luck googling for places. Are there any BIG hotels that are in the centre? I suspect that they will have to book in a few groups to aviod arousing suspicion

Any help appreciated! Cheers.

Personally I'd go for a Travel Inn or Travelodge - much cheaper and they're clean and uninhabited at weekends.

no one seems to take single night weekend bookings? the buggers...

i dont think there is a travelodge in the centre, is there? Might be worth staying in the sticks and just getting a taxi out.

cheers!
