Funny post!!
I use the Opel Manta Owners Club Forum a fair bit and here is a bit of a thread on there. To make my mate Clive's reply make sense (well, sort
of!) I have posted the original question first!!!
Question:
"""I've just bought my third Manta, a A-reg 1.8S Berlinetta hatch which is in tip-top condition with a full MOT and a strong
80,000mile engine. It made a 220 mile trip back home after purchase without missing a single beat dispite just coming out of storage for 7 years. Does
anyone know the standard spec power output for the 1.8S engine? (I think about 90BHP?!?) This one feels incredibly lazy acceleration wise compared to
my previous 1.8, although my last manta was a 1.8 with full irmscher styling and was an exclusive. Maybe the berlinetta was tuned differently to a 1.8
GT, anyone know? Also I've owned a 2.0 GTE with an auto box, is the GTE 'massively' more powerful than the 1.8 as I'm
considering getting a manual 2.0 and spending out on that instead of the one I have now.
Sorry to waffle on but, I also need advise on my brakes as they feel very spongy and dangerously weak, again my last 1.8 rotted on my driveway because
the master cyclinder failed and I couldn't source a replacement. Is this a common fault and anyone know how I can remedy it? The fluid has been
changed and bled through properly and the disks and pads are fine, I do find if I press the brake pedal twice it'll brake more efficiently.
PHEW! That was a long winded first post!"""
THEN MY MATE CLIVE COMES HOME FROM THE PUB AND MANAGES TO TYPE THIS BEFORE PASSING OUT - ABSOLUTELY PRICELESS!!!!!!!!!!!!
"""Why is youi t larestmanta so slow? (bear witj me its alate and a lot of beer(
Yout manta i slow cos thy ARE FFFKING SLOW they are not a quick car at aoll tbh
:LOOk 'llgert bwcj to you een ii;m sober"""
