Should get my MAC today

I had my speedo calibrated at a rolling road ( another fifty quid in to my hungry locost )
Called Mr SVA this morning and told him what was on my letter.
He said 'that wont do'
So back to the rolling road for another letter.
Called Mr SVA.
He said 'that should do'
My appointment is at 3:30 so i'll let you all know at teatime.
I dont even have to take my car along as this is the only fail left.
Woohoo.

I cant believe that you can get away with calibrating speedo elsewhere and passing the test without taking the car to SVA. You must have a very understanding tester.

Not at all. Its very by the book.
If the station doesn't have the equipment to test a speedo then they look to the manufacturer to get a letter af accuracy.
Because I am the manufacturer and dont have the equipment I can sub-contract it to someone who does.
They provide the letter of accuracy using their appropriate equipment.
Easy peasy.

Oh i see. i wrongly assumed that all SVA stations had the kit to check the speedo. Makes perfect sense now. hence the reason why you didnt have to take the car in again - basically no point. The downside though is that you had to pay extra to get an independant calibration test done!!!! I hope you got a discount on the SVA test itself. Did they sting you £30 for a retest?? I hope not.

Congrats on passing - im hoping i will have the same elated feelings very soon. Hope you get registered soon and get out while it is dry ish (read not raining / snowing quite as much as it probably will soon).
