Police round here are running a purge at the moment, pulling people for everything, brake lights not working, sidelights out etc. and giving warnings
to get them fixed.
yours, Pete
I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.

I think its the date that its issued after the offence that counts..... but you are prob looking good.
When i got done in a co car in 2000, it took 35 days or so before I got it, as it was bounced to the lease co, then my company, then to me.
Thats unfair. The reason there is a 14 day limit is so that the facts are fresh in your mind and you have a chance to collate the facts of your case.
35 days insnt exactly fair is it?

Yep, but they still have 6 months (from the date of offence) to summons you to Court if they decide to do so instead - regardless of the NIPI.
Also, some blokey like me has to endorse everything they post to say when and when it was posted - that's all the proof the Police or a Court
needs that documents were served - pants I know.
55 shouldn't (as long as you weren't in a zero tolerence area) produce anything as un-officially, you still get 10% +3 MPH before anything
happens.
Depending on how honest you are, there are ways around this.
At the end of the day, there is only one way round this in the future - drive everywhere at 30 bloody MPH !!!
I know - believe me.
Track days and National Speed Limit roads - that's where its at.

Hi, just wondering about your actual speed, most people dont realise that their car speedo will register about 3-5mph over actual speed.
Anyone with a GPS sat nav or Road Angel can tell you that there is some difference between actual speed and speedo displayed speed.
Once I've finished a project why do I start another?

There is a road in Cambridgeshire, at Camborne, thats signed at 19 (yes nineteen) mph. So you would have been more than 50% over the speed limit on
that doctrine!
regarding speedo error - the two BMW 3 seires I had were acurate to 1mph according to roadside 'speed boards'

14 days - if you dont get it its no concern to them. You are considered to have received it. Its the same with any motoring court documentation - they
dont send it registered, and if you dont get it, thats too bad.
If you really want to worry, you could have been nicked, it could be lost in the post, they will assume that you refused the chance to get 60 quid and
3 points, and you get called to court. Then if you are really unlucky you will also have the summons lost in the post, and not turn up, and they chuck
the book at you in your absence. If you are stupifyingly unlucky, you wont get or pay the fine, and you will end up with coppers at your door with an
arrest warrant.
As daft as it seems, the system could allow this to happen.
A user on this forum works as a court clerk - perhaps he could provide more info.

Been down this road. My solicitor is the local Deputy Coroner. (Funny handshake lot, and all that. )
The only way a court can accept that a letter has been sent, is if the sender has Proof of Posting. ie Recorded Delivery.
If this point is argued in court, the responsibility goes back to the sender.
They will show that the computer printed it out, and it was (maybe) automatically put in an envelope, but have no way of showing it was actually put
in the post. It could easily have slipped under a table or something, and been posted weeks later. Too late. A Recorded Delivery slip is the only
thing a court will (or should) accept.
They don't send out the notices by Recorded Delivery because of admin costs. Also, my bro-in-law who is up in the met police, told me the same
thing.
Costs you a solicitor though, but may save your licence.
Syd.

Now thats what I wanted to hear Syd apart from the costs you a solicitor. If it went to court and was thrown out surely you'd get your costs
back. Seems to me very often don't fight their corner cause of the costs involved and therefore give in to the bullies. If the NIP came in on
time it's a fair cop cause I was breaking the rules. On the other hand if It comes in weeks later then they are breaking the rules and I might
just argue the case.
