Video Editing Software

Whats the best and easiest video editing software out there.

Preferably free.

Mainly for MPEG, AVI etc.

Cheers,

Canopus is the dogs gonads IMHO Problem is you need to re-mortgage your house to buy it and need at least a month full time to work out how to drive it
Therefore I would say Pinacle video editor software takes some beating.

Just basic editing like joining small camcorder clips.

Adding music over them.

Few effects.

Stuff like that.

U-Lead do a very basic one. You should be able to get either that or pinnacle from torrent sites. If not the video camera magazines often have them on their cover disks. I've probably got a copy of the U-lead one around somewhere if you don't have any luck.
Of course there is a very basic one in Win XP....

I asked the same question to my friend who writes DVD games for a living and he recommended Pinnacle Studio 9 or Roxio Easy DVD Creator (or something like that). I was given these recommendations because I am useless at it

My mate who makes DVD vids for a living uses a combination of different softwares. The main one he uses is Pinnacle Studio 9. I have used it as well in the past, and its fairly straightforward.

Fairly easy to use.
