Marriage Records
Seeing as this forum can solve most queries, I thought I'd give this a try.
I'm trying to find out if a person I know is married. I know records exist for both Scotland and England & Wales but is there an
up-to-date, online, database source anywhere which is FOC.
Besides asking the person in question, how could I find out?

Electoral roll, I believe, is FOC but not online, and you'd need to know which town they lived in.

I suspect this person got married recently but am trying to find out for definite.

Yes but unfortunately the records only go as far as 1983. I suspect the person got married in the last few years.
